This nature house (max. 4 people) is the larger of our 2 gites. The clede is smaller. The old café along the former road to Alès is a stone building with three floors. It has been carefully restored and is now a vacation home for two to four people. You can stay there for a night, weekend, week or longer. Downstairs is a bathroom with shower. On the second floor there are 2 single beds. Upstairs you will find a fully equipped kitchen, a dining table and a sofa bed. On chilly evenings you can light the cozy wood stove. The large window offers a breathtaking view of the valley. Outside under the pergola you can enjoy the tranquility and the view. Nature and surroundings
Tucked away in a forgotten valley in the Cévennes is Colombières. This former silkworm farm (magnanerie) is named after the dovecote that once stood here in the forest, about 5 km from the village of St-Martin-de-Boubaux. The house has a long history; it was built in several stages. Often stones from older parts of the house were used for the newer parts. The oldest part dates from the 12th century. The silkworm farm was built at the end of the 17th century. Nature is the region's biggest attraction. There are plenty of hiking trails for beginners and advanced hikers. Under the old bridge of Fage, you can swim in the river. The area is dotted with old villages, each with its own charm and history. Saint Germain de Calberte and the towns along the Vallée Française are well worth a visit. Further north, you will find the Unesco World Heritage Site of Causses et Cevennes. There is plenty to do, but above all you will find peace and quiet here!
