This beautiful Nature House in Groningen is quiet, beautiful, sunny and the most privately located of our 3 safari tents. It has a spacious living area, a bathkmr, kitchen and 2 sleepkmrs with lovely beds with top mattresses. If there is anything we value, it is a really good bed. The use of the communal Kelo sauna is optional and can be booked for 50 euro/night. Living with the rhythm of nature, waking up with the birds singing, picking berries in the garden, lounging in the hammock, enjoying the rocking chair on the porch with lounge sofa, the fireplace with outdoor cooking facilities, our organic garden, our old farm and yard, the panoramic Groningen skies ... all items that contribute to the atmosphere at this place ... very close to the city of Groningen but in peace ... near the Reitdiepgebied, the oldest cultural area of NW Europe. Visit Middag-Humsterland, the mounds, the mud flats or take a day trip to the beautiful beaches on Schiermonnikoog.
Nature and surroundings
The tent is well away from 2 other tents in our newly planted food forest. A productive system with 3000 planted fruit, nut and supporting trees and shrubs. Between the trees, special cultivation techniques are used at De Woldtuin garden. Our authentic farm from 1869 with yard and moat are agricultural cultural heritage. The Wolddijk where we are located is Groningen's oldest dike and our farm is located near an old dike breach and is therefore called De Poel. Our farm was extensively researched by a historian for the farm book of Bedum and surroundings. On our old farm no cows, horses, pigs or chicken barns but small scale and free living poultry. No heavy machinery and tractors but handwork. No parched and impoverished land but small-scale regenerative agriculture. A small-scale community with many friends, harvest participants, biodiversity, greenery, surrounded by organic farmers.
