The smallest city of the Harz offers lots of attractions no matter what time of year and is located amid a forest- and water-rich mountain landscape. The variety of offers ranges from exhibitions, museums and caves to visits to historical squares and cities. This is the right place not only for hikers, cyclists and active holidaymakers, but also for guests looking for rest and relaxation. Your detached holiday home has a covered terrace with a fantastic view and a pellet stove that creates a cosy atmosphere year round. You can take a ride on the distinctive narrow-gauge railway or visit the 1100 metre-high Brocken mountain. In the winter there is a nice skiing area for families in Braunlage as well as single slopes and cross-country skiing trails in multiple villages. Popular destinations are Quedlinburg with its cathedral (25 km), Wernigerode and its castle (40 km), Gernrode (12 km), the Glasebach mine site (7 km), the Brocken (highest peak in Northern Germany; 45 km), Thale with the cliffs "Hexentanzplatz" (witches dancesfloor) and Roßtrappe, the Bode Valley (18 km), the Rübeländer stalactite caves (18 km) and the Kyffhäuser monument (39 km). Worth noting: The parking spot for the house is approx. 150 metres from the house. There is the possibility of transporting luggage with a hand baggage cart.
