This cozy cottage is for people who love peace and quiet, nature and the beach. It is located at the foot of the Hondsbossche Dunes, near the sea and bordering on nature reserve the Leie. In the house you can hear the sea. From the living room you have a view of the garden and the polder. The house is very well equipped. There is a sitting area with sofa, chair and TV and a dining table with 4 chairs. Fast and free internet. In the kitchen 4-burner induction hob, built-in oven/microwave, filter coffee maker, washing machine. Bathroom with shower and toilet. A narrow staircase leads to the bedroom with 2 linked box-spring beds. Sit outside overlooking the garden, the Hondsbossche Vaart and the horses. Deck chairs, parasol and barbecue are available. Parking is next to the house, bicycles can be stored in the barn. There is a charging point for electric cars. Pillowcases and bottom sheets are provided. Comforter covers (1.40 x 2 m), bath and kitchen linen please bring your own, possibly available for 12 euros per person.
Nature and surroundings
The cottage is located in the quiet Leihoek, one kilometer south of Petten. The bird-rich nature reserve the Leie borders the garden. The stairs to the sea dyke are 100 m. from the house, the beach entrance is 500 m. away. The beach is quiet all year round. In Camperduin (4 km) is a lagoon where children swim and surf, kitesurf and SUP lessons are given. The Pettemer beach is internationally known among surfers and kitesurfers. Groet (5 km) and Schoorl (10 km) are cozy villages with restaurants and terraces. The artists' village Bergen is 15 km away, Alkmaar and Schagen at 18 and 16 km. respectively. Hoorn, Enkhuizen, Den Helder and Texel are some of the many interesting places nearby. De Leihoek is part of the ancient Harger and Pettemer polder. In the dune area of Schoorl are the highest and widest dunes in the Netherlands. The whole area is ideal for walking and cycling. In spring, Petten is surrounded by bulb fields.
