The forested north-west of Skåne is quite different from the rest of Skåne. Hilly and both deciduous and coniferous forest. Lovely place for hiking and cycling, wildlife and bird watching and, if it is the time of year, also blueberry picking or mushrooming. A 20 min drive away are the supermarkets in Perstorp, Örkelljunga or Tyringe. Also the highway E4, junction Skåneporten, easily accessible within 10 min. Bälingesjön is 5 km away where you can swim, fish (license for sale on the spot) or sail. Canoes, rowing boats or pedal boats can be rented. Near Markaryd is an elk park with restaurant and souvenir store, Smålandet Älgsafari. Copenhagen is also easily accessible for a special day with opportunities for the whole family. Or to the coast, within an hour you are at the beach or you can climb the cliffs. Playing golf, or tennis in Perstorp is also an option.
