Relax, swim, sail, paddle, fish, afterglow in the wood-fired hot tub and barbecue. On a dock on the Vinkeveen lakes is this little paradise with a log cabin (2 persons + evt child up to 10 years) On a large raft with deck chairs you can float and watch the sun set with a beautiful, unobstructed view. For fishermen also ideal. 12 volt power via solar panels, a refrigerator and an outdoor kitchen Quilts, blankets and pillows provided. Inside is a sink wen stove, cutlery, plates and pans, glasses, stove, a BBQ and an outdoor stove. (In short: a lovely romantic place between Amsterdam and Utrecht. Large jerry cans of water will be provided. For 25 euros per day you can rent a stable, spacious boat. Free use of supboards, surfboard and canoes. Warm outdoor shower and hot tub with the clear, soft natural water from the peat lake.
Nature and surroundings
The Vinkeveen lake is praised for its clear swimming water and is very popular territory for anglers. There are many cozy eateries supermarkets and other stores in Vinkeveen and nearby Abcoude and Mijdrecht. A legakker is an elongated island left over from peat cutting. This is where the peat was laid out to dry. At the log cabin you look out over a nature reserve with the most beautiful sunsets. It is self-sufficient and full of flowers, trees and plants. Outdoor lights glow as the sun sets. The Botshol nature reserve is hugely worth wandering through by subboard or canoe. (No boating after sunset and before sunrise with boat rentals, so not suitable if you want to dive into the nightlife especially in Amsterdam) From the mooring, where you can park for free, it's about 15 minutes of boating through the beautiful, primeval Dutch landscape. A supermarket is just around the corner. It is advisable to bring food and drink with you. The route is easy.
