From the chalet you walk through a back entrance into the Strokelbos. A wooded area where dogs are allowed to run loose all year round and where at dawn wild boar and deer / roe deer are active. There are also several nature reserves accessible from the chalet such as the Leuvenumse Bos, Elspeetse Heide, Ermelosche Heide and the Speulderbos. From the cottage several mountain bike routes run through the woods.
