Attractive and bright vacation apartment with private entrance and easy access in Houwerzijl, near the Lauwersmeer. The apartment stands on an old dike on a dead-end road. The view of vast land, colorful sunrises and picturesque skies is unique. The apartment (46m2) has a luxury kitchen, bathroom, a room with 2 pp bed (160cmB), a room with 2 pp bed (140cmB). Both rooms have a round table with chairs, closet and a sitting area with TV. The apartment is standard rented for 2-4 persons and can be expanded at an additional cost with an adjoining luxury double room (18m2) with two 1 pp beds (90cmB) also combining to 2 pp bed, table and sitting area for a party up to 6 persons. Nature and surroundings
Houwerzijl is a small mound village in the Marne: a former peninsula in the Hogeland, near the Frisian-Groningen border. It lies in the middle of 5 nature reserves: The Reitdiepdal, Middag Humsterland, Lauwersmeer, Waddenzee, Schiermonnikoog. Houwerzijl is a good base for exploring the area: Walking, cycling or canoeing through ancient cultural landscape with mounds, winding roads and waterways. Getting a breath of fresh air along the Wadden Sea, mudflat hiking, falling dry on a sandbank, bird watching or sailing on the Lauwersmeer. The picturesque villages, borgen, farms and medieval churches are a feast for the eyes and regularly the scene of cultural activities and events for young and old. The student city of Groningen and fortified town of Dokkum can be reached in half an hour by car. The boat to Schiermonnikoog is within cycling distance. In short Ollediek an ideal place for a relaxing vacation, midweek or cozy weekend.
