Get away from it all for a while. You will stay in a rustic French Gite on the edge of a lake in a small community. There are 2 parking spaces available.The entire complex belonged to a wheelwright more than 100 years ago. His cash book begins in 1897 and is on display along with documentation of what he was making at the time. A photo of him with his wife completes it. Not surprisingly the Gite is named after his work.The Gite is equipped to prepare your own meals and an outdoor kitchen is also available.In the garden there are several seating areas to enjoy the peace and quiet. At the front of your Gite is a seating area overlooking Lac du Mondon.The Gite is accessible via the A20, which runs from Paris to Toulouse. After exit 22, it is an 8-minute drive to Gite La Carrosse.
Nature and surroundings
The area offers a variety of rivers, forests and lakes, making it perfect for hiking, biking, mountain biking and fishing. Also, trips to nearby villages to soak up history and culture are highly recommended. You can also indulge in culinary delights. There are several restaurants in the area and even two within walking distance. Two kilometers away is a village with the necessary facilities. For larger shopping you can go to La Souterraine, which is also a waypoint on the route to the famous pilgrimage to Compostella de Santiago. Do not be surprised if you encounter deer or wild boars.
