In the middle of the Krommerijn region, in the village of Schalkwijk(Houten), near Utrecht you will find this nice and unique nature house. The cottage is located on the Pothuizerweg, a small country road, just next to the dike. Your view from the cottage is also the Dike and the meadows. Wonderfully quiet and spacious! And behind the dike flows the lek, also good for beautiful views. You are on the island of Schalkwijk, or as it is so nicely called in the outside of Utrecht. This area is known for its beautiful nature and many beautiful castles and cherry trees. But also other fruit trees can be seen here in abundance. Only 20 minutes away you are from the city, but it feels like you are in another world. Elements of the Nieuwe Hollandse Waterlinie can be found throughout the region. You can indulge in cultural history here, but the nature is also special. There are many hiking and cycling routes and even canoe routes. In the village you can rent canoes or whisper boats.
