Arrive, catch your breath, relax... Welcome to the Wendland on the Elbe! The house is in a very quiet location right next to the forest and has a wood-burning stove for cozy winter evenings. Here you can simply leave everyday life behind and enjoy the peace and quiet or be active with: Cycling tours on the Elbe, swimming in the lake or hiking. We look forward to welcoming like-minded nature lovers to our log cabin with wood-burning stove and oak floors. There is room for 6 people in 3 bedrooms. We are a non-smoking house without pets.
Nature and surroundings
The accommodation is located at the end of a cul-de-sac with a view of the forest. The Elbe is about 5 minutes away by bike. Emperor Karl had already taken one part of this area particularly to his heart: the HÖHBECK, a wooded mountain range formed during the Ice Age with the Elbe on one side and many meadows and lakes on the other. With a view over the Elbe, relaxation is still the order of the day. Whether over the Höhbeck, through the Gartow Forest or around Lake Gartow or Lake Laasch, there are plenty of beautiful, long walks to be had. With so much nature, ornithologists have a lot to discover in this area. There are numerous cranes, herons, even black storks, white-tailed eagles and cuckoos can be found here. Those who have that special ornithological gene and are also good at getting up early are regularly rewarded with beautiful sunrises.
