Stay in this unique school from 1928, located in the beautiful surroundings of the hamlet of Tonden. Where until the late 1990s the 5th and 6th grades of this elementary school were taught, you can now enjoy over 100m2 of quiet location with lots of light and views of the meadows. The residence has a spacious living room/kitchen (the original classroom), as well as with an original corridor with the original granite floor. From the hallway you have access to a WC, the bathroom and the downstairs bedroom (which also has direct access with the bathroom). From the hallway, you can also access the landing for the second bedroom via stairs. This second bedroom (two single beds that can also become a double bed) has two windows, allowing you to enjoy lots of light, ventilation and the sounds of the different birds. Bed linen and towels are included. Outside you can sit on the bench or on the terrace and enjoy the wide rural views.
Nature and surroundings
In this beautiful countryside between the Veluwe and the Hanseatic cities on the IJssel (oa Doesburg, Bronkhorst, Zutphen and Deventer), you overlook the beautiful farmlands and forests. There are beautiful hiking trails and the bicycle routes are diverse. You can also walk beautifully on the unique Empe and Tonden moors where even flamingos have been spotted, or at Voorstonden and the Leusveld. A stone's throw from the location you can walk (via a path around the back) to the Sterrebos which is nationally known for its unique garlic toad. Behind the school is also a playing field for the children, secluded from the road and traffic. In front (and from the classroom) of the school you overlook the fields, where all too often you can see the deer and storks. For those who like it, a tandem can be used to go and explore this beautiful area in a unique way.
