Vacations in a train! At the old station of Racour, we have placed two M2 carriages (built in 1958) which we have completely renovated and converted into comfortable train holiday homes of 62 m2 with all comfort for 6 people. Where the passengers used to enter the coaches, there is now an entrance hall with checkroom and toilet. Through an extensive built-in kitchen wall (induction stove, refrigerator, combi, dishwasher) you reach the living space in the train. At the center is an original old double train bench with a solid aluminum porto-baggage that has been restored to its former glory. On one side of this train bench you can take a seat at the train table. On the other, you can cozy up in the train sitting area with TV/DVD also elaborated with authentic train benches. In the front part of the train is a bedroom with its own shower and sink and 4 single beds. On the other side is the master bedroom with double bed that also has its own shower and sink.
Nature and surroundings
We have laid out the former stilt of the station as a landscape garden of 1.30 ha. Two yew trees over 100 years old invite you to explore the garden. Children can romp in the garden, can meet in the willow hut or build a camp in our forest. You can quietly enjoy nature or pick organic greens from our picking garden that we share with our guests. In our share orchard you can enjoy the blossoms and later delicious cherries, apples and pears. There are also garden games available for guests such as kubs, petanque, badminton. The Hagelands Haspengouw of Landen is rich in numerous and fascinating walks along hollow roads, square farms, Merovingian remains, fields, meadows and orchards of apples and pears. We offer free bicycles for young and old to enjoy the route of the former railroad line 147, which has now been converted into a cycling path (RAVeL).
