For lovers of peace, space and nature, half of our beautiful, characteristic farmhouse is available, with private entrance, garden and terrace. The farmhouse dates from 1894 and has "ears" on the facade, typical of this region. The farm is fully equipped. There is a large living room and kitchen; a bedroom with a double and a single bed and private toilet, shower and sink. A second bedroom with a double bed and private shower, sink and toilet. It is rented to one tenant, so there are no other vacationers in the house. The kitchen is fully equipped with gas stove, oven, microwave, dishwasher, refrigerator, coffee maker, kettle, juicer etc. The spacious living room has a large dining table and a lovely sitting area and floor heating and there are games available. In the garden is a terrace with shelter with fixed BBQ, dining table and comfortable chairs. You sit here almost always out of the wind.

The garden is a wild garden with many kinds of fruit that may be picked when ripe. Also many birds, deer and other animals appreciate the garden. From the garden you can walk into the Steendamster forest, where dogs are allowed to run free. Dog(s) are welcome and will enjoy it. You walk in 10 minutes through the forest to the Schildmeer where you can swim and rent boats. There also begins nature reserve Roegwold with a large bird area and endless hiking and biking trails. Also within walking distance is restaurant Kaap Steendam by the lake. Golf course Duurswold is one of the most beautiful and is just around the corner. At 5 kilometers is the beautiful town of Appingedam with stores and beautiful streets. Here restaurant De Basiliek is very worthwhile. Groningen is 25 km away, the nicest city in the Netherlands full of vibrant activities, culture, cafes and restaurants. Good to know for dog lovers with a fearful dog: with New Year's Eve here too, unfortunately, fireworks are shot off.
