With the use of natural, sustainable materials and original milking stable elements, in 2021/2022 we have managed to convert our former cowshed into a luxurious and atmospheric apartment; an oasis of peace and modern comfort amidst the green floodplains of the river IJssel. The stay offers a living area with a workspace and a modern, fully equipped kitchen including oven, filter coffee and Nespresso app. The bedroom has a double twin bed and walk-in closet. Bathroom and toilet are separate. Bed linen and towels are provided. The mezzanine with spiral staircase and TV offers a unique place to look out over the river IJssel. Also from the spacious patio and adjoining terrace with pizza oven you have a beautiful view over this river and its floodplains. A fiberglass connection provides access to fast Internet and Wifi.
Nature and surroundings
The residence is located just outside the village of Zalk, where restaurant "the Oasis" is located. About 10 km from Zalk you will find the beautiful Hanseatic cities of Kampen, Hattem and Zwolle. Located in the floodplains, adjacent to a Natura 2000 area, the residence offers a base for beautiful cycling and walking tours. The Laarzenpad, for example, runs along the IJssel and through the riparian forest with rare plant species. The area has a wide diversity of water, meadow and forest birds. This certainly also applies to the Vreugderijker Waard Nature Reserve, located across the IJssel and easily accessible from April 1 to October 31 via the Zalker foot ferry.
