Located near several hiking areas; Stropersbos, Waterwinning, Clingse bossen -walking map with junctions available in the chalet. The Viewpoint No Man's Land is definitely worth a visit. Ideal environment for cycling / mountain biking and in the nearby villages there are extensive bicycle routes.A must if you like to visit a museum is "Verbeke Foundation" in the short vicinity.At 30 km you are in the city of Antwerp or Ghent for a city visit. Bruges (60 km)is also worth a visit.
