In Rieder, in the Harz region of Germany, there is a station dating back to 1891. It is a building full of character and history. Around 2000, Deutsche Bahn shut down schedules around this station and the building as well as half of the platform and a piece of land next to it, was put up for sale. After years of renovation, it opened for lodging as of 2016. The Suite is the top floor. You have to go up two still original spiral staircases to the top. There you have a fantastic view in the direction of Quedlinburg and the decades old chestnuts at the driveway.
