"My grandmother Chris van Kuyk bought this unique piece of forest/heath land in 1918 and had a romantic wooden cottage built on it. With my grandfather and their two children (my mother and her little brother) they lived there in peace until they had to flee in 1944. The original cottage was destroyed in the war and a stone house was rebuilt in 1957. The garden of almost 3000 m2 has been laid out in stages over the past forty years. As of 2023, I am the fourth in a row in the generation of women to own it. I enjoy sharing this unique and heavenly place so that more people can enjoy it. As an interior designer myself, I have transformed the studio into a wonderfully cozy, warm and sweet place where you will feel right at home. You only have to step out the door for a short or long walk and furthermore you can enjoy the sun all day in the garden with a nice book or light a fire in the evening. Enjoy the peace and quiet, birds and also a very nice breakfast.
Nature and surroundings
Located directly on hiking trails for a short walk take in the Mookerheide for sweeping views of the Maasvlakte and rolling fields of heather. In May the gorse blooms yellow and in July the heather turns purple. Just walk out the gate and through the valley hours can walk through forests (Reichwald), along fields(the seven hills road), hills(the St. Jansberg), the three lakes. Swimming can be within walking distance in the Mookseplas or the Great Siep Restaurants are 3 minutes drive. In Mook there are 2 supermarkets. In Groesbeek there is a weekly market and you can sit on a terrace for a nice lunch. The best Italian ice cream can be found in Plasmolen. Shopping in cozy Nijmegen, the best pancakes you eat at the Duivelsberg, to the sauna in Wijchen . The garden is fenced, so your dog can be free and romp around with my labrador Sep. Wine lovers can enjoy the various vineyards in Groesbeek.
