The Fournil is a detached bakery built with a large, round, traditional bread oven, 50 m away from the castle with a large plot of land surrounding it. Those who love silence, walking, cycling or stargazing will enjoy themselves to the full here. Inside is a large room of 7 by 4 m with sitting area, open kitchenette and dining area; there are 2 bedrooms, with respectively a double bed and two single beds; a bathroom with toilet, shower and sink. In the sitting room a large window (3 m high) gives a view of the rolling hills. Outside is a hardwood terrace facing south and west, with dining table, garden chairs and parasol. Guests can use the swimming pool (10 x 5m) with spacious terrace around it. Number of persons: max. 4 pp; a 5th person can sleep on the sofa bed in the living room. The castle FABRE VIEUX is situated on a hilltop, 5 km from Cezac and l'Hospitalet. Those who love water: at the river LOT (15 km) you can swim, rent canoes and boats.
Nature and surroundings
The region Quercy Blanc owes its name to the white limestone hills: rolling hills, intersected by valleys with small rivers that eventually flow into the river LOT. The tourist office has described beautiful hiking trails; leaflets are available. The houses in the area are built of this limestone-natural stone. The tradition of weekly markets and annual village festivals is still alive. Our little castle covers 4 hectares, part forest, part fields of wild grass, full of orchids, grasses, thistles and flowers; with deer, hares and the occasional wild boar. At night you will hear the barn owl calling.
