The nature house is built against a hill, in a quiet location with private pool and large veranda that offers good protection from the Portuguese sun. It is surrounded by nature, not bothered by neighbors and can be reached via a dirt road. The cottage has a capacity for 4 to 6 guests (sofa bed in living room). 2 large bedrooms with good beds. limited WIFI, but Dutch TV. The original house was built of large granite blocks. The authentic walls have been preserved as much as possible. This provides cooling in summer and retains heat longer in winter. An oasis of tranquility that we ourselves can still enjoy !
Nature and surroundings
The cottage is located in the green part of central Portugal, surrounded by the mountains of Serra do Caramulo, Serra do Acor and Serra da Estrela (with 1991 meters the highest point of Portugal).The region is characterized by ridges, lots of greenery because of the many pine trees, terraced landscape with vines, olive trees and many fields. The rivers and streams (including Rio Mondego, Rio Alva, Rio Ceira) with their small beaches offer the necessary refreshment. In the vicinity of the quinta and the village are many opportunities to enjoy the tranquility and authentic Portuguese village life.
