This nature house is located "sur la campagne," that is, in the countryside, about 3 km from the tiny village of Antully, which is located in Burgundy. The cottage is surrounded by its own wooded grounds of about 7000 square meters. Antully is located 500 - 600 meters above sea level on a plateau of about 150 square kilometers. On either side of the access path is a grassy area, overgrown here and there with trees and shrubs. There is a plum tree and a young fig tree, which bear fruit every year. There is also a shed and otherwise there are mostly deciduous trees. In May, orchids bloom in abundance. From the conservatory you have a rustic view of the forest and the spacious meadows, where cows are usually grazing. You hear little or no traffic. There are few houses in the vicinity, so there is really no noise pollution. The access path ends in a parking lot right in front of the cottage.
Nature and surroundings
The fauna of the plateau includes mammals (roe deer, fox, badger, wild boar, rabbit, hare, squirrel, bats, coypus, otters and very rarely a wolf), many species of songbirds, thrush, finches, several species of birds of prey, red-legged partridge, pheasant, swallows, woodpeckers, etc., as well as hoopoe, which nest on the plateau. The vegetation of the plateau consists of coniferous, deciduous and also mixed forests, interspersed with pastures surrounded by hedges, where mainly beef cows of the friendly white Charolais breed are kept. The plateau, on which Antully is located, is on the border of the vineyards of Burgundy. With places such as Meursault, Pommard, Santenay at half an hour's drive and Beaune at 45 minutes. Autun is a picturesque town, which is located 15 kilometers north of Antully at the foot of the plateau. On the north-west side of the plateau rises the wooded nature/mountain area of the Morvan.
