Welcome to Goeree Overflakkee! Our farmhouse cottage is the perfect base to enjoy this beautiful island. Located in the garden of a farmer just outside Stellendam you can come home after a day out in a very comfortable house with luxury amenities. When the weather is nice you eat outside at the picnic table under the fruit trees, on cold evenings you warm up inside by the wood stove. The house has a tastefully furnished sitting area, luxury kitchen, bathroom with rain shower, ecological toiletries and bathrobes. There is a second sitting area under the stairs with a sofa bed. Please note that this is not separated from the downstairs area. The large open bedroom is at the top of the stairs. Here there is a lovely double bed with Egyptian cotton sheets and a fine reading chair. The house is gas-free, all energy is provided by solar panels. Because of the underfloor heating, the temperature is always pleasant. In summer you can air well and cool the room with fans.
Nature and surroundings
Come hiking on vast beaches, cycling or mountain biking in the dunes and bird watching in the many nature reserves on the island. Go swimming, surfing, kiting, supping, diving, sailing or golfing and, in the evening, dine in characteristic villages or trendy beach bars. Say hello to the seals at the shelter "A Seal," admire a wild spoonbill colony from the very special bird observatory "Tij," and don't forget to look for the bald eagles that have built an impressive nest near the farm where young are born every year. It can all be found in the nearby area! Do you also fancy vibrant city life, just half an hour drive and you are in metropolis Rotterdam. N.B. you can rent our cottage for a weekend, long weekend, midweek or week. Maximum stay is two weeks. We hope to welcome you soon at our stee!
