Our Nature house is located just behind the Elbe dyke and in the middle of the Lower Saxony Elbe floodplain biosphere reserve. Sheep and goats of old domestic animal breeds live on the meadow orchard behind the house. There is a garden sauna and a small playground on the property, and you can relax on the covered, spacious terrace with garden furniture and barbecue with a view of the orchard. The Elbe, with a small bay with a sandy beach and excellent fishing opportunities, is just a few steps away. The Nature house has fast internet. However, we find the surrounding nature more attractive than the network... If you come with your e-bike or e-car, you will find a charging station here. You can also hire a stand-up board and a rowing boat with outboard motor. Discounts are available for longer stays by arrangement.
Nature and surroundings
The old dyke bailiff's house is located in a unique nature reserve. Ornithologists can see a wide range of bird species, especially in the cold season, when winter visitors can be observed wonderfully from the dyke. White-tailed eagles, geese, cranes and beavers are all at home here. A pack of wolves has also returned to the forests of the neighboring Amt Neuhaus. You can explore the Elbe floodplain and neighboring villages on the Elbe cycle path. Bicycles, including e-bikes, can be hired from us for a fee. The Amt Neuhaus Elbe ferry regularly connects both banks. Please buy a weekly ticket for the first crossing. Fishing licenses can be purchased directly from our neighbors, the Rösler family.
