Hidden among the greenery in the beautiful surroundings of Doorn on the Cape woods you will find this adorable forest cottage. The forest cottage stands in the garden of the Elim living community. This Hill Ridge forest garden of 1.15 hectares is known for its unique system of ponds and streams, which together with bridges and artistic objects are part of a unique folly architecture. The forest cottage (23m2) is completely self-sufficient, in a unique way ensured that you are provided with all the amenities. These amenities include: double bed, private shower, toilet, kitchenette and refrigerator, stylishly furnished room with internet and t.v.. In front of the cottage is a small terrace and a large piece of private garden. This forest cottage is an ideal place to withdraw from the daily chaos and hustle and bustle and unwind. But not suitable for small children, in connection with unprotected deep ponds in the garden. Also not accessible for wheelchairs due to stone steps.
Nature and surroundings
Waking up to a cacophony of bird sounds, seeing the squirrels shooting by during breakfast and sometimes just suddenly coming face to face with a deer: it is possible in this garden. From the garden you walk directly into the forest, where you can choose from several hiking trails. If you prefer to explore the area by bike, do not forget to visit the various castles, estates and teahouses. The village center of Doorn is only a 5-minute walk away. If you are curious about what life in a community is like, then during your stay you are welcome to get a taste of community life. Join us for coffee, morning prayers or the evening meal. Nice to know: a large part of the proceeds from the forest house are used for the social activities of the Elim Foundation (ANBI).
