Nature house in Woerdense Verlaat

Spend the night in the countryside, near the Nieuwkoop lakes, in a wooden cottage made of biobased building materials, 200 m from the public road with all the luxury of a vacation home. Grass insulation and wool from our own sheep were partially used for the walls. The floors are made of recycled concrete with elephant grass. This saves 85% CO2 emissions. The exteriors are constructed of red cedar, a very sustainable type of wood. Solar water heaters on the roof provide hot water and floor heating! Waste water is purified in a helophyte filter. All cabins have private showers and composting toilets. In order to reach the huts with dry feet even when the weather is not so nice, a path of grass tiles has been constructed. In front of the haystack hut is your picnic table, there are children's puzzles, farm games, reading books and craft processing available. By appointment, tour the farm and play in the sandbox.
