A gem to unwind and enjoy the vastness and views. Detached cottage located next to our farmhouse, with private parking and lots of privacy. You will stay here on the water, where you can boat, swim, and fish. Bicycles and a kayak to go out are available for free. Natura 2000 area De Donkse Laagten is at your doorstep. Located on a historic donk, in a picturesque hamlet. The cottage has 1 living-bedroom an open, complete kitchen with American fridge-freezer and a nice bathroom. The bed is made and coffee, tea, towels, kitchen linen are provided for you. A private terrace with panoramic views to the front. In the vicinity are many excursions such as to the mills of Kinderdijk, the Adventure Farm in Groot Ammers or silver city Schoonhoven. Larger cities such as Dordrecht and Rotterdam can be reached in 20 minutes by car. The car can be parked on private property right next to the cottage.
Nature and surroundings
You will find this cottage in The Donkse Laagten, this is an open peat meadow area with great natural history value. There are marshy meadows where rare plants grow and many meadow birds have their nesting place. From the cottage you have kilometers of unobstructed views. Birdwatchers and nature photographers are enthusiastic about this area. This Natura 2000 area is managed by the Forestry Commission. Nearby you will find Unesco World Heritage Site "The Mills of Kinderdijk". There are beautiful places in the area such as Nieuwpoort, Schoonhoven, Gorinchem and the historic cities of Dordrecht and Gouda. The cottage is located on walking route "The Pilgrim Trail" and it is a beautiful area to explore by bike. Supermarket and stores at 2.5 km. Free bikes and kayak.
