Our house is located on the outskirts of the small village of Reynes, in the green hills above the town of Ceret, near the border with Spain. The house was an old Catalan farmhouse that we renovated with great respect for the original character. The house has three floors with a living room/kitchen and three bedrooms. The master bedroom is adjacent to the living room. The second bedroom is upstairs and the additional third bedroom is in the basement. This extra bedroom can be booked at extra cost, if you are more than 4 persons (max. 6 persons). The house stands on a southern slope. The outdoor area consists of a steep, rocky garden and several sunny terraces with beautiful views over the wooded area. There is also a covered terrace that offers shade in summer. You do have to be careful not to fall off the terraces. Only the upper terrace has a secure fence. So small children cannot play in the garden unsupervised.

Located in the green hills of Valespir, between the high peaks of the Pyrenees and the Catalan coast, our house is the ideal base for various day trips and hikes. The area combines nature and culture of the highest level. Climb the Canigou (the sacred mountain of the Catalans) swim in nearby mountain rivers and the Mediterranean Sea, or visit wine estates and Romanesque churches and monasteries. The nearby town of Ceret offers a wide range of nice cafes, restaurants and stores and a good museum of modern art. The Catalan coast is the most beautiful coast in France and offers both sandy beaches (check Plage le Racou near Argeles sur Mer), and sublime, rocky bays (check Baye du Paulilles, between Collioure and Banyuls). The Mediterranean climate and south-facing terraces make this cottage a very pleasant place to stay all year round. We usually have beautiful weather even in autumn and winter, with bright blue skies and lots of sunshine.
