This is a lush retreat in the hem of the Lembeek woods. A biodiversity haven on half an acre where tranquility & greenery seekers, game pickers & field cooks, hikers & swimmers come to their heart's content. In the chalet you'll enjoy a cozy living space with wood stove, a bedroom with morning view, a kitchen and bathroom with all the necessary. You'll also find a rapt selection of books, games & homemade ceramics. Outside, you can have an adventurous cooking or firing session. There is a loam oven (bread, pizza), a campfire area with three-pole and a covered outdoor kitchen. Ingredients come from the kitchen garden, greenhouse or food forest. We grow according to permaculture principles. You'll harvest something in every season: herbs, vegetables, berries, fruits or mushrooms. And...fresh eggs from the chickens! In the swimming pond you will find coolness in summer or winter kicks (after a visit to the wood-fired sauna for example). You can also observe the aquatic life from the terrace.

You are on the edge of the Lembeek woods in the Meetjesland, a stone's throw from Ghent. A private road along the grounds gives you access to hours of hiking fun and nature experience. Located on a historic drifting sand ridge, you will initially encounter a coniferous forest landscape (here and there heather patches). Gradually it changes into moister, older deciduous forest with a more diverse fauna & flora. Were already spotted: The Kingfisher, the black woodpecker, families of deer & rare mushrooms. Also the Drongengoedbos, arboretum Het Leen, the creek area and the Dutch coast are nearby. This nature house is located between the villages of Sleidinge and Lembeke (Kaprijke). In addition to the regular offer in the local supermarkets, you will find some fine addresses nearby for, among other things, delicious disembroodied bread and organic cheeses. On Saturday there is a weekly farmers' market in Kaprijke, and there is a bus (Line 56) to and from Ghent every hour. The stop is 50m from the property.
