A unique place for nature lovers with plenty of privacy. From the cottage you walk directly into the forest. You wake up by the cheerful twittering birds and the wind rustling through the trees. In the forest you come to rest, see squirrels scrambling up the trees at lightning speed and hear the tapping woodpecker. After a walk in the lush nature in the immediate area, you crawl away together by the wood stove. Or you install yourself on the spacious outdoor terrace where you (after)enjoy the day with a drink. There are both sun and shade spots. In the vicinity there is plenty to do. Within walking distance you will find the forest cafe where you can sit, have lunch and admire gliders. In the wooded, immediate surroundings you can make beautiful walks, bicycle/mountain bike tours. Within 10 minutes you are in the beautiful hills of Groesbeek where you can also visit several wineries. In 25 minutes you cycle to the oldest city in the Netherlands, Nijmegen.
Nature and surroundings
In the immediate vicinity you can make endless walks and bike tours through the woods, along the heath or over the hills of Groesbeek. Very beautiful hiking areas are the Sint-Jansberg and the Mookerheide. Or enjoy the river landscape along the Maas or in the Ooypolder. You can swim in the Spiegelwaal, the Maas or the Mookerplas. Or visit Nijmegen the oldest city in the Netherlands. With plenty of stores and restaurants. Also the Waalkade with its many terraces is very worthwhile. Nijmegen is a vibrant student city! On a beautiful bike path through the meadows along the old railroad line Nijmegen - Kleve, you cycle in half an hour to Kranenburg, just across the German border. A lunch or pie at Bäckerei Derks at the market square is a favorite. After another 10 kilometers of cycling along the same railroad line you are in Kleve. A cozy town with many stores, bakeries and restaurants. The Schwanenburg towers beautifully above the city. For mountain bike lovers there are routes in the immediate vicinity.
