Our chalet is ideal for a stay with 2 adults / + 2 children! (Less suitable for babies ...) You wake up between the trees, and walk straight into the forest! After a day in nature you can completely relax in our cottage -without WIFI-! In fine weather you can barbecue outside and eat at the picnic table. There is a sitting area with TV, DVD and CD player. A dining area for 4 people, a kitchenette with electric cooker and small microwave oven. Coffee is made with a Nespresso or press coffee. The bathroom has a bath/shower, toilet, sink and hairdryer. There is 1 bedroom with a double bed + double comforter, 1 bedroom with a bunk bed +2 comforters. Toilet paper, kitchen roll, washing-up liquid, kitchen linen, oil and spices are provided. In 15 minutes you walk to the village of Oignies, where there is a butcher, grocer and eatery. Hiking maps and a folder with info are waiting for you!
Nature and surroundings
Our chalet is located in a small wooded vacation park, where there is a small playground and some animals. It is possible to play ping-pong and petanque (ping-pong balls and petanque balls are available in our chalet). From the park there are several marked walks. Oignies-en-Thiérache belongs to the municipality of Viroinval, which includes 8 picturesque villages. It is part of the Viroin-Hermeton Natural Park, known for its many gorges, limestone hills and endless forests. In each village you will find a map with marked walks! The French border is nearby. Along the Meuse, you can go cycling or visit one of the numerous towns (Fumay, Givet, Hastière, Dinant). Also Fondry des Chiens, the caves of Neptune, the steam train in Mariembourg or walking with the donkeys in Treignes ... are all worthwhile! Your stay will be too short to discover everything!
