Fine stay in beautiful cottage and beautiful surroundings. And coziness of the chickens present.

Fijn verblijf in mooi huisje en mooie omgeving. En gezelligheid van de aanwezige kipen.

Extra storage space in the kitchen and a larger refrigerator would have been nice. We ourselves had trouble with the composting toilet. The toilet consists of a bucket with sawdust behind a thin harmonica door. You pee as well as defecate in the bucket and cover it with sawdust until the bucket is full. There are no special toilet compost bags. So the bucket gets dirty. You empty the bucket yourself -without gloves, by the way- on a compost heap around the corner. Very natural but a bridge too far for us.

Extra opbergruimte in de keuken en een grotere koelkast hadden fijn geweest. Wij hadden zelf moeite met het composttoilet. De wc bestaat uit een emmer met zaagsel achter een dun harmonicadeurtje. Zowel plassen als poepen doe je in de emmer en eea dek je toe met zaagsel tot de emmer vol is. Speciale wc compostzakken zijn er niet. De emmer wordt dus vies. Je leegt zelf de emmer -overigens zonder handschoenen- op een composthoop om de hoek. Heel natuurlijk maar voor ons een brug te ver.

This nature house is very spacious and pleasant. It sits in a good and quiet location for exploring the Ardennes and doing activities such as hiking, biking, canoeing and visiting towns. Nearby is a delicious bakery and a few restaurants (check opening days in advance). The owners of the cottage are very nice, welcoming and clearly love their home and grounds. The garden is shared with a couple of cozy chickens. Be careful not to step in the droppings though. The same goes for the droppings of the dog of the house, who is free to do his business in the garden and also right by the garden table where it is otherwise lovely. In summer the trees are full of leaves. You only have a good view of the valley from the far end of the garden. The neighborhood is quiet and rural.

Dit natuurhuisje is erg ruim en prettig. Het zit op een goede en rustige locatie om de Ardennen te ontdekken en activiteiten te ondernemen zoals wandelen, fietsen, kanoen en plaatsjes bezoeken. In de buurt zit een lekkere bakkerij en een paar restaurants (check vooraf openingsdagen). De eigenaren van het huisje zijn erg aardig, gastvrij en houden duidelijk van hun huis en terrein. De tuin wordt gedeeld met een paar gezellige kippen. Wel goed oppassen dat je niet in de uitwerpselen stapt. Datzelfde geldt ook voor de uitwerpselen van de hond des huizes, die vrijelijk de behoefte mag doen in de tuin en ook direct bij de tuintafel waar het anders heerlijk toeven is. In de zomer staan de bomen vol in het blad. Je hebt alleen goed uitzicht op de vallei vanaf het uiteinde van de tuin. De buurt is rustig en landelijk.

The low rating has to do with the poor workmanship making the interior a disjointed whole.

Het lage cijfer heeft te maken met de slechte afwerking waardoor de inrichting een onsamenhangend geheel is.

The workmanship of the apartment's furnishings is unfinished. As a result, it looks a bit untidy and random. I am sure this will be different next year. The layout is atypical, much of the space is bathroom with a nice bathtub. The apartment is located below that of the owners and that you sometimes hear well. Especially in the morning. The kitchen is not well equipped (the refrigerator is very small, few cooking utensils, no storage space). The garden is very nice and there are cozy chickens running loose. The owner is friendly and communication was smooth.

De afwerking van de inrichting van het appartement is nog niet af. Daardoor oogt het wat slordig en willekeurig. Dit zal vast komend jaar anders zijn. De indeling is atypisch, een groot gedeelte van de ruimte is badkamer met een lekker ligbad. Het appartement ligt onder dat van de eigenaren en dat hoor je soms goed. Vooral in de ochtend. De keuken is niet goed geoutilleerd (de koelkast is heel klein, weinig kookspullen, geen opbergruimte). Er wordt blijkbaar vanuit gegaan dat je uit eten gaat.
De tuin is erg mooi en er lopen gezellig kippen los rond. De eigenaar is vriendelijk en de communicatie verliep soepel.
