Enjoy a vacation in the middle of the beautiful scenery of the Achterhoek. We have completely rebuilt this cozy cottage single-handedly with many reused materials. From an old barn it has been turned into a comfortable vacation home with floor heating, bath and all facilities needed for a wonderful stay in the quiet surroundings of Aalten. Downstairs are a bedroom with double bed (1.60x2 m) and the bathroom, upstairs there is a loft and a (children's) bedroom with two single beds(2 times 0.90x2 m) The cottage is about 80m2. There is a good and fast wifi network, the kitchen has an oven, fridge freezer, dishwasher, filter coffee machine and kettle. There is a smart TV, puzzles and games. There is an 11kW charging point for the car for a fee. Please note that the front door is only 1.85 meters high and some people find the stairs up steep (see photos).
Nature and surroundings
The cottage is located next to our farm at the end of a dead-end road, just outside Aalten (4km). You can walk out the door to go for a walk, you have a good chance of seeing deer nearby. Nearby are the nature reserves Het Aaltens Goor and the Vennebulten. At the beginning of the road is a junction of the bicycle junction network. The MTB route also starts 200 m from the vacation home. It is nice and quiet here, but stores are only 10 minutes away. There is a swimming pool/sauna just across the border in Germany (10 km). Book town Bredevoort, with swimming lake De Slingeplas is 8 km away. Doetinchem and Winterswijk are 15 minutes away by car.
