À la campagne, in the Nièvre, lies our gîte. The gîte (60m2) has a living room with a nice sitting area and an old fireplace with wood stove. The spacious bathroom has a walk-in shower with shower chair and a toilet with armrests. The downstairs bedroom has a double bed. A high-low bed, hoist and po wheelchair are available for rent upon request. In the spacious kitchen you will find all kitchen utensils, dishwasher and washing machine. The ground floor of this cottage is wheelchair accessible. On the 1st floor there are two more bedrooms; one with a double bed and one with bunk beds. There is a second toilet with washbasin. The cottage has a large terrace with fixed BBQ and a lovely shaded roof of vines. The fully enclosed garden facing south-west offers a beautiful view of grazing Charolais cows, hedges, woods, fields and hills. On our property you can enjoy our swimming pool, petanque court and table tennis table. A dog is welcome by arrangement.
Nature and surroundings
The cottage is located next to our converted farmhouse, in the small hamlet of Gros Sauvigny. Here you will find plenty of nature, tranquility and space. The landscape is hilly and varied, with meadows, forests, rivers, lakes and fields. From the cottage you can make lovely walks. Chances are that you will encounter deer, foxes, red deer and other animals. In this area there are many (predatory) birds and migratory birds, such as the hoopoe, the golden oriole, the red and black kite, cranes and bee-eaters. For cycling enthusiasts, there are several cycling routes, such as along the Canal du Nivernais. Besides hiking and cycling, you can also swim in the area. For example in the forest lake, about 10 minutes drive from the cottage, or in the lakes du Merle and Baye. The beautiful Regional Natural Park the Morvan is nearby. The Musée de la Mine (La Machine), Bibracte (Gallic fortress city) and cities such as Nevers and Autun are also worth a visit.
