This nature house is located at the end of a dead-end road on top of a hill giving you a beautiful view. Originally a farm, the nature house has been converted from the former stable into a cottage of over 150 m2. Renovated with respect and preservation of the original elements such as the 'poutres' and old walls. The living/dining room is 60 m2 and has 2 sitting areas, one by the TV and 1 reading/listening area. There is also a dining table with 6 chairs. On the left side is the kitchen which is fully equipped with a dishwasher, microwave, oven, refrigerator with freezer. Upstairs there are 2 spacious bedrooms with a 2-person box-spring bed. A smaller room has 2 single beds. There are 2 bathrooms with shower, toilet and 1 or 2 sinks. In front of the cottage there is a sitting area and to the left of the cottage is the spacious veranda with lounge area and separate table with comfortable chairs. Here you have the best view over the heated pool (salt) and the hills with the omnipresent Charollais cows.
Nature and surroundings
The Morvan is ideal for hiking and cycling. There are gravel and mountain bike trails, but you can also get around on electric bikes. The terrain is rolling with more challenging climbs here and there with sections of 10% and more. Our Gîte is 100 m away from the route to Santiago de Compostella. Those who like culture can go to Autun at 30 km. with a famous cathedral and the largest Roman theater outside that of Rome. Other beautiful cities are, Vézelay, Avallon and just outside the Morvan you will find Nevers and Vichy. The nature house is located in a small village with 450 inhabitants. In the village is a Romanesque church from the 12th century. The classical music festival Le Vent sur l'Arbre is held here every year in August. At 500 meters from the nature house is a restaurant La Bonne Auberge where you can eat delicious food. Other restaurants are 2.5-10 km away. Including Le Table de Jerôme at Hotel du Morvan (Michelin Guide) in Luzy, here you will also find stores.
