The Fryhof is located at the end of the Meerdijk in Grootschermer. A beautiful farm in the beautiful Eilandspolder. This is a large wetland with many birds and wonderful nature. The farm has a large living area with open kitchen and 6 comfortable guest rooms with private bathrooms. It is here especially enjoy the peace and space and the wonderful view over the void. On the ground floor is a large kitchen fully equipped including 2 dishwashers and a spacious living room with large dining table, comfortable sofas and a large television. The bedroom on the ground floor is suitable for guests in wheelchairs. Four rooms on the second floor have a so-called skylight. On a clear night you can watch the stars from the bed. In the yard you will find a cozy open (covered) area with a large table, with a fire basket and BBQ, for a fee there is a hot tub overlooking the Eilandpolder.
Nature and surroundings
The grounds are home to many flowers and plants, which in turn attract bees and butterflies. After the driveway, the Meerdijk continues in a grassy dike which means that, besides local traffic, it is mostly cyclists and walkers who pass by. There are many beautiful walking and cycling routes in the area. Within walking and cycling distance is the village center of Grootschermer with the cozy restaurant/cafe Het Genot van Grootschermer. Or walk to Driehuizen in about 20 minutes and have a drink and a bite to eat in De Vriendschap. De Graft and De Rijp are also within cycling distance. In 15 minutes you can be in Almaar by car and in 40 minutes by car (or bus from Noordeinde) in Amsterdam. Reserve one of the electric bikes and explore the area, walking is of course also possible. There are so many beautiful cycling and walking routes in the area that two days at The Fryhof will not be enough.
