On our century-old lungère, we have renovated and insulated the separate workers' cottage with straw and lime, among other things, which gives a pleasant atmosphere. Beautiful stone walls, a wood stove (wood available), well-equipped kitchen. Breakfast outside in the morning sun or a glass of local cider in the evening. Upstairs is the bedroom, toilet and bathroom/shower. In our/your garden there is a large pond with a connection to the tidal river Aulne, on which we overlook. Around it a mature garden with many trees, flowers and shrubs. The marshland around the Aulne provides a huge variety of birds and other wildlife.Our neighbors have a horse boarding house.We have 2 'ladies' aged labradors named Bep&Toos and a doberman Bram (born 1.7.2025) who are used to swimming in 'their' pond and of course eat anything that is reachable! They understand the word 'no' but will gladly test you.
Nature and surroundings
After 20 years in Provence, here we enjoy the abundant green nature and the beautiful coast. Many hiking possibilities (GR34) both in the ancient forests, through heath fields, and along the beaches. Nice small historic villages where you can't store for hours but where you can always find a local restaurant where you can enjoy fresh fish e / o shellfish and of course an old church with open-topped spire. In Brittany, people are sporty: cycling, surfing, supping, canoeing, diving, sailing, etc. Our immediate surroundings are hilly (15%) and therefore challenging for cyclists. For culture and shopping, Quimper, 40 km away, is a beautiful old city, but Pont Aven is also fun for a day trip with all kinds of art galleries. The Crozon peninsula has coastal villages all with their own harbor and beaches. No rows of sunbeds but lots of space. No 40C but lovely weather to do anything. Occasional showers but no whole days of rain.
