Just a few km from Lake Maggiore and surrounded by Nature, we renovated a 19th-century stone-house, now a comfortable and energy efficient house with the flavour of the rural life, perfect for holidays or teleworking ‘into the wild'. In the house we rent the first floor apartment, consisting of a living room with a fully equipped open kitchen, a dining table, and a twin sofa-bed. The main bedroom has a double bed, two bedsides and a spacious wardrobe. The bathroom accessible from the bedroom has a walk-in shower. Heating and cooling are provided by a heat pump run by photovoltaic panels. Laundry is at the ground floor. The garden is separated by the dead-end gravel road and allow to rest, read or write in the shade, or take an aperitivo. The house is 5 mins walking distance from the hilltop where you can admire S.Clemente mediaeval church and the stunning view over Lake Maggiore, the Western Alps and the Po plan. The road may not suit motorbikes. Pets may be allowed upon request.
Nature and surroundings
Partially off road, off pipe and off grid, the casa sits at 470m on the hidden gem of S.Clemente hill, embedded between Lake Maggiore and Lake Varese in the 'Ticino ValGrande Verbano' Man and Biosphere reserve. This site is an important habitat for several wildlife species, from endemic plants to birds to deers, which you could meet while hiking on pathways or you could hear while watching the stars at night. While giving new life to the place, we payed attention to save and enhance biodiversity by restoring natural vegetation, creating a small pond, maintaining the stone walls and replanting the fallen trees. The surroundings have plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities, from climbing to hiking, cycling, paragliding, sailing and swimming. Some hike and cycle routes departs directly from the house, and many others can be easily reached by car. Botanical and cultural tours on the lake Maggiore are a must in spring and summer, while autumn is ideal for forest colours baths.
