This nature house is located next to an imposing square farmhouse in the middle of the Mather fields, between the famous cobbled roads of Flemish Ardennes. In the recently restored barn, you can stay in a cozy guest house of 68m². The decoration is sober luxurious, with white walls and white wood. The house for 4 people in the old stables has its own entrance and terrace. You can taste the history of the building here. The vaulted ceilings and the still visible "whimsical" walls are a nice contrast to the modern and sleek interior. The 2-bedroom apartment has a spacious bathroom with 2 sinks, a rain shower and a bathtub and a fully equipped kitchen. Through the large glass front you have a beautiful view of the garden. The beds are made on arrival, bath towels and breakfast can be provided on request. Thanks to the electric charging stations you can charge not only your own batteries but also those of your car. We also offer two B&B Rooms with breakfast.
Nature and surroundings
The area around Oudenaarde, and especially the village of Mater, looks much as it did a century ago. You are overwhelmed by the view of fields, meadows, forests and hills, yet city life is very close by. Oudenaarde, the birthplace of Margaret of Parma and famous for its tapestries, is a stone's throw away. On the Grand Place, with its belfry tower declared a World Heritage Site, you can see just how important this city has been for centuries. It is also cozy, with lots of surprising stores, terraces, interesting museums and sights. Want more cities? Ronse, Zottegem, Geraardsbergen and even Ghent are easily accessible. But also hikers and cyclists will certainly come into their own in this part of the Flemish Ardennes. After all, this is the cradle of the Tour of Flanders. So you will find a wide selection of cycling and hiking routes, from relaxing to challenging.
