Peace and quiet in this authentic Veluwe forest cottage that has been in my family since the 1950s. Quiet on the porch in your own forest plot. The morning sun is already showing itself. The wood stoves inside and outside make the stay snug and warm. Grab old books "of yesteryear" off the shelf and imagine yourself in the 1930s-60s. My mother's farmhouse fur collection is now available to all. I myself came here in my student days with my boyfriend and later with my husband to have nothing but each other and nature. Over the years the house has been equipped with every comfort. And yet the core remains: the power of simplicity. And if you want more than "outdoors", then you are always days short of enjoying the culture and tourism of this area. Tip: On weekdays, you have nature almost all to yourself. There is room for a crib.
Nature and surroundings
Stroll from your cottage to the Tongeren boardwalk and through sunny meadows to the old park-like forests of the Tongeren Estate. Meadows, farms, forests and vast rolling moorlands beckon to you. By bike, within half an hour you can reach the Hidden Village, the Zandenplas and cycle through heath and forests, through the crown domain where wild boar and giant red deer can be spotted. On your bike, have a delicious meal at the Ox Barn, Buitenplaats Het Soerel and Brasserie Floor in the middle of the forest with game. Look out over all that greenery from the Haelberg. Unwind with a day of wellness at the Veluwse Bron. Wildlife scavenger hunts with a guide or on your own: pure wild nature all around you. And how about the beautiful Hanseatic cities of Zwolle or Deventer. And Paleis het Loo, Elburg, Castles Cannenburg and the Vossenberg: unlimited and effortless enjoyment of culture and nature. With always the peace and security of your own cozy cottage in your own forest garden.
