This original, attractive house with private access to the Dordogne River makes you feel like you're really in France! (Bathroom is getting complete renovation May '25) This Nature House is located on the edge of the village of Le Buisson in the Dordogne, between Bergerac, Sarlat and Perigeux. In the distance is the main road to Siourac. In Le Buisson you will find, among other things, a bakery, eatery, minimarket, wine store. Nearby villages are: Le Bugue, Cadouin, Limeul, Saint-Cyprien, Belvès, Monpazier, Beaumont-du-Périgord. Within 10-30 minutes is an outing of choice for everyone: a nice town, good food, canoeing, concerts, local market, castle, hiking, visiting caves.... While guests stay in the detached cottage (with privacy and private garden) the owner, in the adjacent residential barn overlooking the poplar forest. He welcomes you personally and is at your disposal for tips and service such as picking you up from the station, dropping you off to canoe.
Nature and surroundings
The house is on an estate of over 2 hectares with a poplar forest. We are very lucky to have a garden right down to the banks of the Dordogne River, in a Natura 2000 area. A little further on you can even walk straight into the Dordogne to cool off. Even canoeing is so soothing... Birds can always be heard, deer find their way in the early morning. Even on hot days it is pleasant under the trees by the water. Apart from the large "grange" (farm barn) and the séchoir (tobacco barn), the entire outdoor area is available to guests. From the house you can walk within 5 minutes towards the Bessede forest with the long-distance hiking trail to Cadouin to one side and towards Urval to the other. Also by bike you can go that way and explore outside the tourist crowds of the main roads in high season (a bit hilly though).
