This Nature House has a rich history. The Kerkhoven family who bought 't Gagel around 1890 built the dome. The family owned a tea plantation in Java (Hella S. Haasse writes about it in her book De Heren van de Thee), and came to Holland once a year to discuss here the figures that the brewing farmer consulted with them. Meanwhile, the farmers themselves are at the helm at 't Gagel. The dome is now a luxury apartment where 2 people can experience history in a new regenerative setting. There is a spacious bath, a blissful bed and your own private woodland garden with a fire pit - an ideal place to unwind or write a book.
Nature and surroundings
Situated on the unpaved Gageldijk, with old beech trees surrounding the dome and further out overlooking the beautiful coulisse landscape of the Achterhoek. The cottage is located in the yard of regenerative farm 't Gagel, nicely hidden behind hedges and between trees in a quiet and peaceful spot in the yard. Enough privacy, but also many hiking and biking trails nearby to go out. Lochem is a beautiful historic town with many amenities.
