A stone's throw away from the former borg Dijksterhuis, just outside Pieterburen, we have built a wooden cottage on the edge of our farm, the Dijksterhuisje. With kilometers far -and free- views to the dike, people say it feels like you've landed at the end of the world.The cottage has 2 bedrooms and 4 of the 5 beds are extra long. Bed and kitchen linen is included, bring your own bath towels. The kitchen is simple but complete. There is a kettle, Nespresso machine, filter coffee machine, induction stove, fridge freezer and microwave. Everything works on 100% green electricity.In the adjacent shipping container is a wellness area furnished with Finnish sauna, infrared sauna, a rain shower and a plunge pool and relaxing chairs on the wooden decking. The use of this is included in the price. For €7.50 pp you can add a sauna bathrobe and hamam towel. Using the sauna in this special setting is a very soothing experience!
Nature and surroundings
A mixture of grain and flowers has been sown on the land in front of the cottage. The seeds provide food for field birds in the winter. Animals regularly pass by; deer, hares, pheasants and many other birds. The sunset is different every day and the clouds are grand and impressive. Our farm is an active arable farm; potatoes, onions, sugar beets and grains are grown in the greenest way possible. Pieterburen is known for its seals, mudflats and the Pieterpad, but there are also many hiking, cycling and canoeing routes in the area.
