The converted and extended Nature house is located in the rear garden area of the old inn on the Wohldenberg (now a private house) next to a meadow orchard. Originally - more than 100 years ago - the octagonal house was a bandstand. Later, it was increasingly used by guests to drink tea and has been known as the "Teehaus" ever since. A few years ago, the owners converted and extended it for residential purposes. The bedroom and living room are equipped with a cosy wood-burning stove. It is a place where you can enjoy togetherness. There is also a lot to experience in the surrounding area. Wohldenberg Castle can be reached on foot in 10 minutes. From the 32-metre-high tower (keep), which is open to the public, you can see far into the countryside. The Sottrum leisure park (with environmental education) and Derneburg Castle (with art museum) are 2 and 6 km away respectively. Hildesheim and the Harz Mountains are also not far away.
Nature and surroundings
The Wohldenberg is forested. The forest consists mainly of centuries-old copper beeches, hornbeams and oaks. Some areas are designated as natural forests and are not used for long-term ecological forest development. The area at the foot of the Wohldenberg is characterized by the wide valley of the Nette and the tributary valleys of the Beffer and the Sennebach. The watercourses predominantly have near-natural water structures. In some places in the Sennebach, fossils can easily be found.
