The name says it all: in the days of "grandeur," this wintering space for orange trees was erected here on the site of an older building. The generous terrace on the south side lies on the old vaults, built against the castle wall from the Middle Ages and is enclosed by a flower garden and a hedge.From the platform of the stairs you reach on one side of the house a walk-through bedroom with a single old convent bed and a crib. Behind it a bedroom with two box springs. On the other side of the house, a second walk-through bedroom with two box springs leads to the living room with four-poster bed 140 cm wide. The generous seating area and octagonal table for games make this stay very attractive even in winter. For long evenings there is a well-stocked bookcase. The bathroom contains a shower, toilet and sink. Pets are allowed only on the ground floor (living kitchen).
Nature and surroundings
The nature house is located on Cortils estate, large 76 acres including a park with natural pond, tennis court and 15 acres of private forest. There are plenty of hiking opportunities. On the estate are a sheep farm, picking garden with ecologically grown flowers and duck farm. Day trips: Liège, Maastricht, Aachen and the Ardennes.
