Welcome to our charming thatched nature house, located in picturesque Giethoorn, an idyllic village in the head of Overijssel. We cannot make it more romantic, the bird sounds, geese flying over, ducks and swans in the canal, seeing the sunrise from bed.... And if you look closely and with a little luck you can even see the deer in the meadow on the other side of the canal.This authentic cottage offers the ideal combination of tranquility, nature and comfort.You look directly out on the canal from both the living room and bed. Layout: Downstairs is the cozy sitting / dining area and a small kitchen including Nespresso with hot water function, fridge freezer and microwave. Behind a sliding door is the bathroom including toilet. Outside on the veranda is a garden bench where you can eat or read a book when the weather is nice. Upstairs you will find a comfortable double bed. The cottage is heated and cooled by air conditioning, and has Wifi.
Nature and surroundings
The cottage is located in the National Park Weerribben-Wieden, you can park by car at P1 or P2 and from there it is a 500m walk or further by bike. We have a shed with a charging point for your e-bikes. By train / bus is also possible, the bus stop is 500m away. Once installed you can reach the village center on foot in 10-15min with cozy restaurants and stores. Even in the summer when Giethoorn can be busy on some days there is nothing to notice with us ... delicious tranquility. The area is also known for its beautiful lake area for water sports enthusiasts, and the many bicycle and hiking trails. Discover nice places like Meppel and Steenwijk and do not forget the Zuiderzee towns like Blokzijl and Vollenhove. The forests of Overijssel and Drenthe are about 15-20min away by car. In short, be welcome and experience Giethoorn from our cozy cottage!
