The vacation cottage is located directly on the Birkenhof and comprises 2 floors with living room and bedroom, kitchen and bathroom with shower, WC and washing machine. The living and dining area, the open kitchen and the bathroom are on the ground floor. Upstairs is the bedroom with a double bed, a single bed and a children's play area. On request we can provide a baby crib. 2 adults and 1 child can stay here very comfortably. Your dog is also very welcome. The area in front of the vacation home is not completely fenced in. In the house there is a TV with DVD player, DVD collection and free WiFi (fiber optic). A Netflix subscription and 250 national and international TV channels are also available free of charge.
Nature and surroundings
The Birkenhof is situated in a secluded location in the middle of the Appenzellerland in Herisau. It is completely surrounded by meadows and forests and borders on various hiking trails. From here you can go walking, hiking, cycling and swimming. The farm offers a magnificent and unobstructed mountain view of the Alpstein. The towns of Herisau, Appenzell and St. Gallen are close by. And you can get here so quickly: Zurich Airport 40 min OLMA trade fair 15 min, Lake Constance 25 min, Schwägalp & Säntis (2502 m) 30 m. Just 2 km away, you can swim in the indoor pool at the "Sportzentrum Herisau", ice skate in the ice rink, enjoy a massage or visit the sauna. The "Säntispark", 2.7 km away, offers a climbing park and a world of pools and slides as well as the opportunity to enjoy a sauna, wellness, bowling, darts and minigolf and much more. In winter, the nearby cross-country and ski areas invite you to go skiing and snowshoeing and offer plenty of variety.
