Brucht is a regional village in the green Overijssel Vecht valley. You will find a forestry, a dozen nature reserves and even a sand drift. Within biking distance of Brucht is the Forestry Hardenberg of Staatsbosbeheer, over 1,000 hectares in size. In the center of this area is the recreational lake De Oldemeyer. A trip through this forest, on one of the many bridle, bicycle and hiking trails, guarantees special encounters. On the moors and along the beautiful fens you can encounter deer and birds of prey. In the middle of the forest is the recreational lake De Oldemeijer, a wonderful place to swim or relax. You can also walk in the nearby Engelandse bosch, the Collendoorner forest or near Kloosterhaar the Engbertdijksvenen. A raised bog area with in its core still about 15 ha. of un-excavated raised bog. The area exerts an enormous attraction for birds.
