Nature house in Vinkeveen
Utrecht, Netherlands
- 6 persons
- 2 bedrooms
- WiFi
- Pets allowed
Just a 20-minute drive from Amsterdam, you find yourself completely surrounded by nature, on an island in the Vinkeveense Plassen. The island is divided into five lots, and on one of these lots stands a beautiful peat hut. This hut is the only peat hut still standing on the lakes from the time of peat cutting. The peat cutters laid the peat to dry in this hut and also stayed there to sleep. During WWII the resistance stayed in this hut because the Germans did not dare to enter the lake and after WWII the hut also served as a "church" for the fishermen who went to mass there. With the hut you rent the boat with it (100 euro per day), so this is added to the rental price. This large hut offers all modern conveniences thanks to solar panels, which provide enough electricity for lighting, WIFI, a refrigerator, a Nespresso coffee machine, a luxury toilet and a hot shower. The indoor kitchen has a gas stove. There is sleeping and sitting space for 6 (and possibly 8 people).
Nature and surroundings
Located in a beautiful location on the Vinkeveense Plassen (Vinkeveen Lakes), the bog hut offers a wide view of the lakes and beautiful trees and shrubs and of course the special birds such as the crowned duck, spoonbill, oystercatcher and white-eared duck. 10 minutes by boat from Jachthaven Bon in Vinkeveen, you will arrive at the Hoge Bomen layover, where the hut is located in the middle of. Upon arrival you will be taken by boat to the island. At the island is your boat, which you rent with it (100 euro per day rental). In 10 minutes by boat you can go shopping in Vinkeveen, or just enjoy sailing. In the cottage there is a welcome book with all kinds of tips for activities with the boat. The area is beautiful and ideal for lovers of swimming, sailing and fishing. At Jachthaven Bon you can pay parking or travel by public transport to Vinkeveen and/or Abcoude, where we will pick you up to check in. There are also two brand new SUP boards, a new Weber BBQ and deck chairs
