Welcome to our rustic cottage, your home on vacation in the mountains. Built on a century-old granite farmhouse in the Serra da Estrela Natural Park, central Portugal. Inside you will find natural materials, a cozy wood stove and views of the rock face behind the bed. Outside, a sunny terrace with panoramic views, silence and mountains awaits. Perfect for nature lovers, hikers and dreamers. You are surrounded by hiking trails, herbs, stars and silence and only a 5-minute drive away from several small villages and several river beaches where you can swim. Here you live to the rhythm of the mountains. (1 dog possibly allowed, but only by agreement! There are cats and a dog living on the farm).
Nature and surroundings
The cottage and farm is located in the middle of the protected natural park Serra da Estrela, above the village of Famalicão da Serra. From the grounds you have an unobstructed view of a huge part of the park as well as Torre, the highest point in Portugal. Walk directly into the mountains, discover deserted paths, rivers and wild flowers. In spring everything turns green and you can smell the wild mint. In autumn chestnut trees hang full and in summer it is perfect for a dip in the various rivers in the area and in the evening cool off atop the mountain. This is the pure nature of Portugal, away from mass and hurry, a place to catch your breath.
