Glamping Veluwe
Have you ever tried the experience of glamping? Try various types of glamping accommodations in Veluwe that will give you the best holiday experience.
Exploring the National Parks
There are two different national parks within the unofficial limits of the Veluwe. The Veluwezoom National Park is one of these. This park covers 5000 hectares and is managed by Natuurmonumenten. The Veluwezoom is the first National Park in the Netherlands. The rolling landscape of dams, created during the penultimate ice age, characterizes the area. You get a good idea of this from the Posbank, a beautiful viewpoint in the park. One of the dam walls is Signaal Imbosch, with almost 110 meters the highest point in the Veluwe and in Gelderland. Large and small game are found in the National Park, but you will also encounter many species of birds and reptiles. To keep the park livable and open, large grazers are used, such as Scottish highlanders and Icelandic ponies. Do you not know where to start your discovery tour through the Veluwezoom? Then visit the visitor center in Rheden. Various hiking, cycling, riding, and mountain biking trails also start from here.
The second National Park on the Veluwe is the Hoge Veluwe, a real highlight of Dutch nature for outdoor enthusiasts. The park is hardly accessible for cars and other motorized faults, but you can walk for miles, ride a horse or ride a segway through constantly different landscapes, with or without guidance. Cycling is also fully possible, for example on the "white bicycles" that you can use for free within the park boundaries. Want to catch your breath in between? Then visit the famous Kröller-Müller Museum, Nature Museum Museonder, or Jachthuis Sint-Hubertus. A visit to one of the wildlife observation points is also possible. Maybe you spot a deer, red deer, or wild boar!
Not located in one of the two national parks, but definitely worth mentioning is Kroondomein Het Loo. With over 10,000 hectares, this domain is the largest estate in the Netherlands. The estate extends northwest of the city of Apeldoorn. The majority of the landscape, around 80%, consists of forests. In addition, you will also find some moors and farmland. 50 hectares of the estate in the Veluwe concern buildings and the associated gardens. An example is Paleis Het Loo. This former royal palace and its palace gardens are open to the public.
Activities
The Veluwe is a holiday destination that will appeal to young and old. Children can explore nature by, for example, building tree houses and adults can take beautiful walks or bike rides while enjoying the peace and space. In our offer of more than 200-holiday homes in the Veluwe, there is always accommodation where your company will feel completely at home. Do you want a house with a sauna, fireplace, or an oven? The choice is yours. All nature houses have in common that they are in the most beautiful places of the Veluwe nature. Away from the crowd and not on a large-scale holiday park. The Veluwe is a great holiday destination in all four seasons. In the winter, a holiday home in the Veluwe is a fantastic place to spend Christmas with the family or to spend the New Year in peace. With a bit of luck, the landscape around your stay has been transformed into a fairytale-like white backdrop and you can take long, winter walks there.
Accommodation
Those who would like to go on a cheap glamping holiday can choose from different accommodation types. For example, yurts, safari tents, tiny houses, and teepees are seen as a form of glamping, but tree houses, houseboats, log cabins, and wagons are nowadays also classified as glamping accommodations. What all these rentals have in common is that on arrival everything is arranged and ready for you. The holiday can start right on arrival and that is - especially with kids - so nice. Old-fashioned camping with the luxury of today (you might even have a pool)... Have you already tried it?
Are you wondering where you will leave your dog during your vacation? You don’t need to worry about it. Click here and you will see the available glamping accommodation where you can go with your dog. Moreover, wherever the glamping tent is located, there are plenty of options to keep you entertained! In addition, a visit to some historical cities, an amusement park, museum, or zoo are among the possibilities that you can do during your camping luxury holiday. Whatever your stay looks like, glamping is an attractive alternative to a traditional camping holiday.
